OSC know that different people have different needs and reasons for studying, and that the conventional higher education approach is not practical for everyone. We worked with OSC to develop their existing visual identity to reflect this.

Developing the visual identity for Open Study College.

Introducing three new condensed typefaces for Open Study College. These typefaces were designed as part of the Open Study College’s visual identity refresh. An uppercase condensed monoline sans designed to echo the characteristics of the brand’s graphic device and textures. The OSC typefaces were created in three variants – Stencil, open and chromatic.

We undertook an audit of the existing visual toolkit and established the assets to be developed for this stage of the identity’s refresh. OSC’s existing condensed typeface was used successfully across OSC comms and generally liked but felt it did not truly represent OSC or be distinctive enough to be recognisable as them… The new OSC typefaces were designed to work with the new visual system assets and add personality and playfulness to the brands new look.
